Andy is in the final stretch of writing a book to be published in 2021 by Riverhead. He will continue keeping his events to a minimum, but he does have a few already scheduled:

A special screening of Seats at the Table ( feature documentary film about Books Behind Bars) co-hosted by University of Virginia President James Ryan. Screening will be followed by a panel discussion including President Ryan, Andy, Valerie Boykin (Director of Virginia’s Department of Juvenile Justice), a university student and correctional center student featured in the film. A reception to follow. Starts at 4:30 p.m., in Newcomb Theater, University of Virginia, March 23, 2020.

“Transforming Your Classroom Through Community-Engaged Teaching.” Two-day immersive workshop facilitated by Andy at the University of Virginia, August 2020.

November 2019

October 2019

Seats at the Table, a feature documentary film about Books Behind Bars, is named a Finalist for the prestigious 2019 Japan Prize.

February 2019

Radio IQ/ NPR airs a story about Seats at the Table, a feature documentary about Andrew’s Books Behind Bars program.

March 2019

Seats at the Table, a feature documentary film about Books Behind Bars, is one of fourteen films selected for the 2019 SXWX EDU Festival.

April 2019

Seats at the Table screened at the Richmond International Film & Music Festival

Fall  2018

Seats at the Table documentary about Books Behind Bars, had its world premiere at the Global Peace Film Festival in Orlando; played at United Nations National Assembly Film Festival and the Virginia Film Festival.

Summer 2018
